Imagine yourself walking into “Gargantuan Pet Supply.” You’re alone. You feel lost. Nobody can be seen. Tons of products are placed from floor to ceiling. When you walk down one of the food aisles, you can’t even tell if you’re the only one in the store! You feel as if they could lock you up inside and nobody would know. There are so many choices, 90% of them aren’t even what you need. But, you can’t figure out what you need because you can’t be seen. You are swallowed up by the Mega Big Box Culture.

But what about YOU and YOUR PET’S needs!?! You wander through the maze, like a mouse trying to find a piece of cheese, your head spinning, your eyes popping, “I JUST NEED A DOG TOY! WHERE ARE THEY!?”

Finally, after searching and searching, a worker, who happens to be coming back from a break, sees you at your wits end and says “Can I help you?” “I JUST WANT A DOG TOY!!!” The worker blurts out – “aisle 3” and walks away.

Let’s contrast that experience with the Pet Lover’s Warehouse experience. You’re a pet lover, right? So this is your warehouse. As soon as you walk in, you notice the cute chirping sounds of the many varieties of birds we carry. The store’s colors are bright and happy. The checkout counter is right near the front door, so there is an eager team member ready to greet you and help you find your way around the store. They ask if they can help you. They let you browse if you want, but are ready to answer any questions you may have.

You take notice that the store isn’t as big as the Big Box stores; but somehow you feel more comfortable and more at ease because it doesn’t swallow you up like the others. “Will they have what I need?” - You think to yourself. You walk around the store and to your amazement, you find all that and more! There are sections of dog clothes, collars, leashes, many different brands of food- some you didn’t even know existed, vitamins, grooming supplies, flea medicine. There are items for cats, cat toys, small animal food and cages, bird supplies, fish supplies (salt and freshwater), reptile supplies and on and on. You’re impressed!!

As you walk, you are struck by the many kinds of salt water and freshwater fish, coral, live rock. You try not to jump out of your skin when you feast your eyes on the Boas and Tarantulas.

But then, you get lost for a moment and think, “Am I outside…?” No, you only walked pass the cricket station.

Next you come to the small animals. Some may scream “EEEWWEEE!!!” when they see the little white mice. But then they see the cute hamsters and gerbils, and that usually changes to “AAAWWW”. But suddenly you turn, and you find your heart melting as you gaze at the little bunnies and guinea pigs bouncing around in their open-air petters. Go ahead pet one and give it some love. You know you can’t resist. Don’t forget the ferrets either. They’re incredibly playful.

Finally, you’re amazed at the variety of birds. Sure, everybody knows parakeets, cockatiels and finches. But we usually have some larger birds also. You spot the largest and admire its beauty. Then, of course, you HAVE to talk to it. Can it talk? “Hello”…. “Pretty Bird”….”Hello”. You may just get lucky and start a conversation.

Well, now it’s time to gather your items. You wheel the cart to the checkout and pay for your purchases. When you’re done, you nearly faint as the team member asks if you need help carrying out your stuff. How can that be! Nobody does that anymore!
